Where there's not enough venture capital
Interesting post and series of comments at Joi Ito's blog regarding the risks taken by entrepreneurs who personally guarantee loans to startups. This is a problem that arises when there isn't enough local expertise and/or pool of funds for early stage equity investing. It doesn't take much imagination to see how it can squelch entrepreneurial activity. |
