The Napster related lawsuit against Hummer-Winblad is a piece of attempted intimidation on the part of Universal and EMI. It's going to be a difficult case to win, since it attempts to 'pierce the veil' of corporate limited liability to go after one of the investors. Such attempts are usually held to a higher standards of proof and harm than those going after the company itself. Win or lose, however, it's an attempt to make venture investors think twice before hazarding themselves or their limited partners in endeavors that are antagonistic to the vested interests of the music business.
