A week of the surreal

The new: Blitzkrieg and fire fights in real time. The heart torn out of a center of government, and even the propagandists put the civilian toll in single digits. Anti-missiles that actually work.

The old: Turning the wrong way or just bad luck means death. The savagery of a brutal regime on its way out. Dust, mud, blood.

In San Francisco, the demonstrators trash the streets and budget of the one city in America where a majority may agree with them. In Silicon Valley, the sun shines down on a perfect spring, and hope stirs with the markets. This week of all weeks, we closed two new deals after doing none for over a year. On the day the bombs first fell. Complete chance.
